A Message from our Parish

Greetings. In the glorious name of Jesus the Christ from the Methodist Churches of Cumberland County. Welcome to the Cumberland County Parish website. This site represents sixteen congregations throughout our county. You may find each congregations address and contact information by clicking on the “Worship Times” link in our main menu. The Worship Times webpage contains a link to the pastor's address and contact information as well. You may also find the interactive Cumberland County Map helpful by clicking here.

We live in an area where lots of folks know about Jesus. They grew up in church, have Bibles in their homes and quote Scripture on their social media accounts. Jesus seems to be a big part of most everyone's life here in Cumberland County. He’s just not the center of their lives, but He wants to be.

What if there is more to Jesus and being His follower than you think?  What if He is more loving than you think? More gracious than you think? What if God has a dream for your life bigger than you have ever dared to dream?

The Methodist churches of Cumberland County believe we have been called to help the people in our community experience the more that Jesus has to offer; to discover His dream for their lives. We do this by loving God, loving others and engaging our world through mission and service.

Two ministries right here in Cumberland County that help us to live out our values are ER Ministries and Feed My Sheep Food Pantry. You can learn more about these ministries by clicking on their links in the main menu.

If you are new to Cumberland County and/or are looking for a place to join in worship, we would love for you to join us.

Blessings and Peace,

Rev.  William Herndon
Pastor Burkesville First and Highland Chapel UMC
